Must Have Makeup for Travel

Heres what’s important to focus on when considering what to pack…

On my month-long trip to Europe I had to be laser-focused on my makeup routine to save space (since I only traveled with a carry-on!), so here’s a breakdown of what’s important to focus on when considering what to pack.

Tarte the Buffer™ Airbrush Finish Foundation Brush

I use this to apply absolutely everything to my face because the unique shape and texture has the ability to blend and apply so many different types of makeup… From light-weight tinted moisturizer and full-coverage foundations to cream brush and bronzer. It is hygienic to travel with and your fingers don’t get messy like they could using a sponge applicator.

Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Medium Coverage Liquid Foundation with Hyaluronic Acid

I love multi-purpose products while traveling (because they save space!) such as a foundation with a serum, or a tinted moisturizer mixed with sunscreen. Highly hydrated skin (such as you’ll experience with regular hyaluronic acid use!) makes for easy makeup application, and a photo-ready, flawless, easy finish.

Diorshow 24h Buildable Volume Mascara

This mascara can be applied in one coat for an easy daytime look, and doesn’t need to be cleaned off before reapplying or adding more. The buildability of this product makes it extremely versatile as it doesn’t flake, smudge or get clumpy after multiple applications. It’s perfect for creating a day-to-evening look, quickly!

Stila Stay All Day® Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner

The name says it all… All day staying power, ultra easy-glide-on finish and a dark liquid liner is a quick way to lift the eyes and frame your lashes.

Tower 28 Beauty Bronzino Illuminating Cream Bronzer

One of the best things about this glow-inducing cream bronzer is how it acts like a highlighter and contour all at once. Plus, its light, creamy texture is easily blendable just using the fingertips, which earns it a place in my ‘travel friendly’ makeup list!

It’s also touted as a favorite of jet-setting, it-girl, Molly Sims.

Nars Blush in “Orgasm”

A cult-favorite blush whether you’re traveling or not, it’s a universal, long-lasting sunset tone of rose that’s buildable and subtle at the same time, and doubles beautifully as an eyeshadow as well!

Charlotte Tilbury Lip Lustre Lip Gloss in shade Pillow Talk

This kissable mauve gloss is suitable for day or evening usage, as well as being ultra-hydrating, which is a must for long trips.

When packing your beauty and makeup products in a carry-on remember these key factors:

  • Hydration is key

  • Products that do more than one thing are a must

  • Consider day-to-evening compatibility
